| Since our
establishment in 2000, the Libenow Family has been migrating
toward a homesteading lifestyle. Our beginnings were
meager. Erica began gardening in the dirt patches of
suburbia and Jim began researching.
Our move to Ellensburg in 2002 enabled a serious leap in our
efforts. The garden grew and the research findings were
implemented.
A few years' time saw growth in the family and in the garden.
With four capable young men, help is never in short supply.
David, Harry, George, and even Thomas help with the animals and
in the garden.
We are currently raising horses, cows, and rabbits. Our
chicken project is on hold while we prepare to raise turkeys
this spring.
Jim and the boys are trying their hand at cabin construction,
and have successfully built a very cozy dry cabin in the lower
field.
